Happenin' Hymns - Stylistic Parodies
The Happenin' Hymns series of CDs are not parodies in th strict definition, but are "stylistic parodies." The song words have not been changed from the originals, but the musical styles are all over the map. Think "Doxology" done in hot techno style, "Holy, Holy, Holy" done in reggae, and "Amazing Grace" with mariachi flavor. Think calypso, big band, polka, salsa, beach style, bluegrass, rap, soul, 60's girl gropu, disco, and doo-wop.
