New this year! We are introducing an exciting opportunity for puppet team leaders. For the first time, puppet team directors can apply to be an official assistant for the Puppetry Dream Team. It's a hands on directing workshop on a grand scale! For more information, please see the above application.

The Vent Dream Team is made up of some of the world's top Christian ventriloquists. This talented group will spend the week preparing a creative, entertaining, and most unique performance which will be presented on Saturday for the entire I-Fest audience. Vent Dream Team applicants must be at least 12 years of age and experienced performers. A short performance video is required.

Who is eligible for the Vent Dream Team?

  • Vents must be at least 12 years of age.
  • Vents must be experienced performers.
  • Vents should be ministry-minded and interested in working in a group, not just solo performing.
  • Vents must be capable of memorizing scripts written for the team.
What is required of each ventriloquist selected for the Dream Team?
  • In order to be considered for the team, the vent must have a paid registration for the entire week of I-Fest submitted at the same time or previous to submitting a Vent Dream Team Application.
  • The vent must complete an application form which includes a recommendation by at least two people who know the vent's performing ability. (Only one may be a family member.)
  • The vent must send a video of his/her performing at least five minutes but no longer than fifteen minutes in length. (If you have been on a previous vent dream team, a video is not necessary. However, if you believe your skills have improved, you may choose to submit a new video.)
What is expected of each Vent Dream Team member at I-Fest?
  • Dream Team members should plan to arrive at ONU Sunday afternoon or evening. The first meeting of the complete Vent Dream Team is scheduled Monday at 9:00 a.m. and all members are expected to be there.
  • Each day, the team will rehearse 2-3 hours with Monday being an all day rehearsal. The Vent Dream Team will perform for the entire conference as a Special Feature Group on Saturday afternoon. Therefore, the earliest any team member will be able to leave is 5:00 p.m. on Saturday afternoon. If possible, it would be nice if you could stay overnight Saturday night and depart Sunday morning. This will allow for dinner together and a debriefing time for the whole team.
  • Dream Team Members are already being honored before the entire conference and we would expect all vents to exhibit a servant's attitude, sharing and helping others in any way possible, not isolating themselves as "stars" above all the others.

This team of 12 - 15 excellent, experienced puppeteers that will be selected by One Way Street from nominations sent in by their puppet team directors. A short performance video will be required with each nomination. One nomination per team please. Age limit 15-19 years of age.

Who is eligible for the Puppetry Dream Team?
  • Puppeteers must be 15 to 19 years of age as of the first day of the conference.
  • We prefer that all Dream Team applicants be an active member of a local puppet team.
What is required of each puppeteer selected for the Dream Team?
  • In order to be considered for the team, the puppeteer must have a paid registration for the entire week of I-Fest submitted at the same time or previous to submitting a Puppetry Dream Team Application.
  • The puppeteer must complete an application form which includes a recommendation by his/her puppet team director.
  • The puppeteer must send a video of his/her performing (8 minute limit). The videos are accepted in DVD, MiniDV, and VHS formats only.
What is expected of each Puppetry Dream Team member at I-Fest?
  • Dream Team members should plan to arrive at ONU Sunday afternoon or evening. The first meeting of the complete Puppetry Dream Team is scheduled Monday at 9:00 a.m. in the Turf Room, and all members are expected to be present.
  • Because of the Saturday afternoon performance of the Dream Team, the very earliest departure from the ONU campus will be 5:00 pm Saturday. We are planning a 'debriefing' time and 'Dream Team Party' for Saturday evening, and we ask that you plan to stay overnight Saturday and depart Sunday morning if possible. Under no circumstances will a Dream Team member be allowed to leave campus before 5:00 pm Saturday.
  • Dream Team rehearsals are scheduled for all day Monday, 9:30 - 11:45 a.m. Tuesday through Friday and 8:30 - 11:00 p.m. Wednesday evening. Your Dream Team involvement must have FIRST PRIORITY over other commitments, such as hands-on workshops, classes, and even your local puppet team's involvement in an I-Fest competition. Please do not apply for Dream Team involvement unless you are willing to give it FIRST PRIORITY for the entire week.
  • Dream Team Members are already being honored before the entire conference and we would expect all puppeteers to exhibit a servant's attitude, sharing and helping others in any way possible, not isolating themselves as "stars" above all the others.
