This 23-minute musical is a parody of the TV show, "American Idol." It begins with Bryan Seabreeze, the show host, announcing the two last contestants: Eliab the arrogant, and his humble brother David. Each of them perform a song before the three judges. Eliab sings "Big Shot" as his song, while David chooses "He's the Lord, He's My Shepherd."
As this contest is a search for the new Israel Icon, God's chosen one, Bryan reminds the judges what to look for in a winner. God is not concerned with outward appearance, but is pleased by the character of the heart. There are two recorded commercials included in the musical, adding to the TV flavor. The book includes dialogue, song lyrics, production tips and a CD recording of the entire musical.
